We are really delighted to announce that our practice in Ruskington has been shortlisted for ‘Young Practice of the Year’ in the national awards hosted by the Association of Optometrists (AOP), which recognises the highest levels of achievement in UK optics.
The Young Practice of the Year category celebrates practices, established within five years, which fill a need in the community and demonstrate drive and flair in establishing, growing and retaining a strong customer base.
Optometrist and manager, Claire Wood from Navenby, Lincolnshire said: “We are really delighted to have been shortlisted for this prestigious industry award. When we established the practice in 1992 our focus was to be at the heart of the community and offer excellent patient care. This award recognises the hard work and dedication of the whole team in achieving this goal.”

Henrietta Alderman, AOP Chief Executive, said the Awards which is now in its sixth year “celebrates the talent and expertise of practitioners who contribute so much to the public and profession”.
She added: “This year we have seen some remarkable entrees who demonstrate real commitment and skill in delivering for patients as well as playing an important role in the optical community. We are looking forward to giving them the recognition they deserve.”
Lunettes Opticians was first established in Sleaford in 1992 by Tushar Majithia, managing director. The group later opened practices in Grantham in 1997 and Ruskington later in 2012. All three practices provide NHS and private eye tests, colour vision testing, contact lenses and are specialists in low vision treatment.
